Sound issue please Help!!!

I was wondering if anyone is having same problem. My aspire one all of sudden had the sound stutter and slow down the computer. I can seems to pin point why it was doing that. I restarted the computer into Kubuntu and it said sound card was disconnected. Only thing I can think of was that few water drops may enter the computer while I was doing some dishes but I find that very hard to believe. I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences or know how I can fix this. Please HELP!!!!!
