anyone else having wireless issues with this netbook? Im running the latest Atheros driver as thats what it shipped with and the wireless is very shotty. websites will just stop loading for a few seconds then will go back to normal etc. its a pain as I will miss MSN messages but it wont disconnect me or anything. I have another laptop right beside this one with no issues so that rules out range and the router.

    its the XP Home Version.

Anyone else having any problems with this?

I was quick to assume 7.6.0.224 was the latest driver. I will upgrade to 7.6.0.260 and report back in a day or so

Mine also has the problem occasionally. I disabled power saving mode in the device manager and it helps somewhat, but still occasionally have small lost signal/packets.

I've had the same problems using the Linpus version of the Aspire One. I'm using model 150-1249 with the 120 GB hard drive and 512 MB RAM.

The problems you're describing are the same as I'm having.

The wireless network card occasionally stops working. There's no reliable time or way to replicate the problem except that it is likely to happen at any time while using the wireless network connection.

When the problem happens, the WLAN light at the bottom right of the keyboard is still on. When I flick the WLAN switch, the on-screen icon indicates that the software has turned off the WLAN. When I flick it again, the on-screen icon indicates that the WLAN is enabled, but I still cannot find any wireless connections.

Rebooting doesn't help, but doing a complete hardware cycle (shutdown and turn back on) will work.

Occasionally, the WLAN light turns off and will not turn on until I power-cycle the computer.

I've installed all software updates and upgraded the BIOS to the newest version.

I've sent the same details to Acer Support, and am awaiting a response. Make sure you do the same and maybe they can track down the issue.

I'll post any results from Acer Support.

I had the same problem with mine. It came with XP, but I had loaded it to dual-boot Linpus as well, and I had problems under both OSs. Occasionally under XP, I could get it to reconnect by disabling the card in device manager the re-enabling it. Usually when I tried that, the card would just disappear out of the Device Manager, like it wasn't installed. A full shutdown always got it working again, a simple reboot usually wouldn't.

I finally called Acer and got it RMAed. It was only gone about a week, but beware - they replaced the Atheros wifi card with a Broadcom. (notoriously bad linux support)
