Sprint USB Wifi Broadband Card

I bought a Sprint wifi card, USB, says it works with Linux but so far I don't have any idea how to make it happen. It looks like Linpus can't see the modem when it's plugged in. Does anyone have any instructions for this? I got into advanced mode, figured out I would need to use Gnome-PPP but I haven't been able to get any further. I have the Vendor and Product ID for the card, I'm assuming that has to be plugged in somewhere. TIA for any suggestions, hints, pointers -
