AAO Linpus 110 ZG5 w 8gb SD card, 8gb internal flash, 512meg Ram, After a slight clattering fall (1 1/2 ft, did worse than that before), my AAO started acting funky, then had complete failure- wouldn't boot (no device), but it would boot from bootable Ubuntu USB 2008-10 and screen + keyboard- everything worked, but it saw NO SSD, but saw the extendable SD card. Battery had dropped to 15 min, and then seemed about dead. Anyway- after 9 months of no use, charged it today till battery light flashed yellow (10 min solid) , and it now BOOTS UP and everything works! Disconnecting the battery causes instant dead, so I was getting no power. Could a bad battery cause all this? Is the SSD a plug-in card that can come dislodged or is it soldered in? Anyone know where to get cheap replacement cells to rebuild battery (or cheap whole one)? I recovered the Linpus OS after corruption 6 months before that from the burned USB stick from the CD. Is that CD BOOTABLE LINPUS, can I use that to run computer if this problem returns? I know all the alt OS advocates, but they all seem to lose hardwear or need more resources. Thanks- not having this has caused big hardship since can't deal with full lappy weight anymore. Any info would be useful, and yes I searched "SSD failure" mkham6@yahoo.com
