    Hi folks,

I am using an AOA110 Aspire One netbook. I had problems when I was travelling around Southeast Asia before. The SSD was not detected in the bios. After turning off an on again it was found.

I went back to Germany and replaced the slow 8GB SSD with a faster 16GB one and never had a problem since. However I am back in Indonesia with high humidity and the problem with the not detected SSD started again.
Even after shutting it off and on again it is not found in the bios.

Do you think it is linked to the high humidity? What can I do against it? Local people use netbooks here too.

Can I install Win XP on a USB flash drive and boot from it? Is there an easy way as I do not have access to a CD drive / installation CD. But I have the XP CD files copied on a memory card.

    Thanks,

    Frank

I opened it up and reconnected the Zif cable. It was detected now. Can I use contact spray for the cable? What kind of spray can I use?

    Thanks,
    Frank
