My SSD died yesterday. Tried all sorts of disk utilities with a Linux USB to no avail. It's been about 8 months since I bought by AAO and it's covered under warranty, so that's no big deal I guess.

My question is whether SSD failures are more commonplace than HDD failures. I see a lot of threads on here about the SSD failing. Are there newer, better SSDs?
