so after a "certain" amount of confusion I have openvpn working ... not at all sure why the good folks at acer sent this thing out w/ openvpn installed but the tun.ko module not present by default :D

now happily i can at least get openvpn to run

however i have to open a terminal sudo / su openvpn myconf.conf to get it to run

as such sadly (su/sudo) i think the .conf file in the /etc/openvpn location will not work

anyone got openvpn working at start up??? if so HOW did you get it to work

    thank indeed

    Re: start openvpn at all!

    Hi,

I'm struggling to get OpenVPN working on my linpus aa1. I've installed the missing tun.ko module and have only been given the network address, username, password by my uni to connect to their VPN. They're giving me excuses about not supporting linux but saying they've got EEEs to work. It seems if there's not a GUI they don't like it.

Anyway, executing openvpn --client gives: "You must define TUN/TAP device (--dev)"

Typing openvpn --dev gives a syntax error. Help!
