    Hi,

I've installed gpsd and have managed to get it working with my USB GPS receiver and TangoGPS, which suits my needs perfectly.

However, I'm stuck with having to start gpsd in a terminal window each time as the hotplug script doesn't seem to pick up the GPS.

I know that it's possible under other distributions to use a configuration command (dpkg-reconfigure gpsd), but this doesn't seem to work under Linpus.

Has anyone else found this problem and come up with a suitable solution?

    ALT-F2 type in: xfce4-autostart-editor

Then add the command that you normally use in the terminal to start that daemon. This will autostart that daemon everytime you boot up in the future.

    Cheers.

    Hmmm!

I didn't think of using that to start it up every time, but I guess it won't have any effect on naything else if I'm not using the GPS....and it does work!

    Thanks for that!

Typically daemons run in the background and usually "sleep" until a client awakens them to do something. :)

    Cheers.
