Shutting down as when I go and turn the unit off, it just hangs at the Logging off screen. It can sit there all night if I dont force it to shutdown via holding the power button down till power is cut off.

Gee.. that sounds nasty! If you didn't have such problems with other Operating Systems you used in the past, I would say it's a bad driver installation or a program that cannot be forced to shut down.

If you're ready for big action, you could try to reinstall Windows and avoid installing beta drivers. Just let Windows choose the best drivers for you.

This is usually do to some program you have running in the tray or at startup that won't shut down properly.

I would look at the startup manager and get rid of anything on there you don't use regularly or looks suspicious.

I recommend Glary Utilities. The program has a built in startup manager as well as a one click maintenance. You can get it at CNet's http://www.download.com site.

No, I am sorry... I either used the "update driver" function of the Device Manager or had them downloaded using Driver Max utility. I think the first one would be enough for this driver.

so far the instructions in overclocking is not that clear. hope somebody out there would be more patient in providing a clearer step-by-step process coz while AAO 751h is nice, the 1.33 GHz isn't really enough for workaholic me. thanks in advance :D

Yet another happy Windows 7 on AO751h user.

Piece of cake installing Win7 on it, making things far more readable than the old XP, faster response of the OS almost straight out of the box.
The drivers I have used are those from the Acer's support service and they work like a charm. The video play back has been improved (huge difference) and I think seriously of not installing any other media players than my ever loved foobar2000.

P.S. I am not using aero.

    A quick question,
When using wifi the led on the front side of the netbook is constantly on and doesn't blink on net traffic as it used to in XP. Is there a way of getting this effect back? It is not big deal, but just for the shake of the looks...

After a fresh Windows 7 install, it's unable to recognize the webcam.

Do you happen to have a link for the webcam drivers?

After long trying both XP and 7 on this I have come to preferring XP over 7 on this because:
    1. XP is a lot more lightweight than the lightest tweaked 7 on it.
    2. Media player classic may not support full HD DVXA in XP, but when using the Cyberlink Codecs in it or when using the Cybelink player you have full and smooth hd playback with DVXA in XP.
    3. The battery with XP lasts almost twice longer than with 7.

The downside of XP may be the lesser looking graphics, but the rest make up fully for the debate. This netbook was meant for XP totally!

    overclocking

    Hi,
can anyone help with where i can get/download the SetFSB version 2.2.117.88 - the link on this page didnt work and when i google this version i dont get any useful results. (The version that can be downloaded is 2.2.117.98 but that does not work on my device).
Does anyone on the thread still have a copy ?
    Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone else is running Windows 8? I had a friend install it for me today, and it runs flawlessly, better than Vista did for sure. Also it takes up less than 10 Gigs once installed. I believe Win7 32bit takes up 17Gigs. (don't quote me on that, but i feel sure that Win8 32 bit is smaller)

This is on an AAO751h, 2gigs ram. 32Gig SSD

On Vista I was running SetFSB and clocking it @ 1450 GHz, Win 8 is still more responsive running on 1330GHz.
