    Hi
I got my netbook a couple of years ago the linux version with SSD. the last few weeks ive noticed the expansion slot doesnt seem to be working right. it recognises a card is in there, ie. file manager see's the files that are on the card and says my hard drive is 10.3GB, but I cant copy data onto the card only onto the main hard drive. file manager says 5.0GB free or 10.3Gb. (4gb SD card and 1Gb on SSD) but if i try to downlaod or copy say 2Gb into Documents on the, it says there is not enough space to copy it. I dont know if its always done this or what because ive only just got enough stuff on it to fill the hard drive anyway
is that normal, if not how can I stop it and if it is, is there anyway around it so it copies to whichever drive has space? Seems a bit pointless calling it storage expansion if i have to copy directly to it anyway.

not really relevant but while im at it is there any way i can save the equaliser settings on VLC player, I need to have smoothing on full and volume normalising on or i just get crackles and noise if i turn the volume up on the player above about 10% (laptop volume doesnt make a difference)

    Thanks

I can help somewhat with VLC. You're going to love this, lol.

    1. Select Tools > Preferences.
    2. At bottom left: Show settings: All
    3. Left menu: expand Audio, expand Filters
    4. In Filters section, select Equalizer ( and Volume normalizer for me)
    5. In Filters > Equalizer section, select favorite Equalizer preset (once upon a time I figured out how to set the Bands gain directly, but I've forgotten now)
    6. Save

Now it should remember at least that much each time you start it up. Why the heck it can't have a save button on the equalizer panel . . .
