I have my new blue AAO just ordered with a 8gb ssd. I also ordered a 3rd party amazon 6 cell battery for it, which leaves me with the 3 cell spare. I'll probably want to keep the 3 cell as a backup, but want to know whether it would be a good idea to store it in the fridge/freezer? AFAIK Li-ion batteries like to be stored at around 40% charge and at low temps, to preserve their life. So is it a good idea to put it in a sandwich bag at 40% charge in the fridge or the freezer? If not, where is the best place to store it?
BTW, I have used search but the results didn't help me.
    Thanks,
    Ben

Fridge. Mine is there :) Plastic bag must be properly sealed to stop ice/water going to contacts...

No clue. That's first battery I'm storing in the fridge. For me is also interesting. I took the risk with 3-cell standard battery as I'm no longer use it. I only read about this way of storing battery but never found any straight forward info how this helps - that's why I'm trying...

Very well. With my use battery works about 9-10 hours now. In extremely hard use I have about 6-6.5h.

I can try but what software should I use and is it continuous test or I can open/start/boot and close/stop AA1 in any time?? I use AA1 as mobile PC for digital systems and it's not working all the time...

it's not a continuous test, you open the program and go to battery info page, it shall tell you the quality of your battery and the actual amount of charge it holds.

I remember reading that it slows the cells loss of capacity meaning the battery stays good for longer. My 3 cell will also be a spare so I'll keep it in the fridge too. But I'll see how much it degrades by over time
