strange charactures when installing programs???

    Okay so when i install something (RTCW: enemy territory and EPSXE) i get these square characters instead of normal letters (a-z etc) it means i cant install what i want because i cant read them, ive tried guessin where the buttons i want are but with no success. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this, im running limpus on my AAO if that helps any, any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks. :)
