    Depends which one you're in at the time! Usually logging out takes you to a login screen, and somewhere on there is a dropdown or selection of some sort for what type of session you want to start.

    I believe I'm on xfce right now. Whatever the linpus model starts out on.

    I think you'll have to disable auto login, and get gdm running 'behind' xfce. See this threadfor details.

    Thanks I did that and at the login screen it gives the options of chosing Last session, default session, or xfce seesion, but no gnome or kde.

    Strange, I'd have expected gdm to be aware of the other environemnts available. How did you install them?

    Well I think your question just shed some light on the problem...I'm pretty sure I didn't install them. I thought they all came installed.

    But I just tried installing them and I'm having dependency issues...From the package manager checking the Gnome Desktop evironment box gives me this error:

    notification-daemon-xfce conflicts with notify-daemon
    Missing Dependency: gecko-libs = 1.8.1.8 is needed by package yelp
    Unresolvable requirement kde-settings >= 3.5 for kdelibs
    Unresolvable requirement kde-filesystem for kdelibs

    Have you updated the repositories (sudo yum install fedora-release)? That often solves dependency issues.

    KDE and Gnome are both pretty big - I reckon Acer valued spare space on the SSD more than a choice of desktop environents!

    I tried that command and it said there was nothing to do so I guess I'm up to date.

    Is there a specific repository I should have checked (or not have checked) in the repository manager? I'm a little wary of messing with those settings because once I changed them and it ruined my ability to install anything from there.

    I'd have thought the repos should be correct, but some of those issues don't look strightforward!

    There's a topic here which deals with Gnome and KDE under Linpus - at least one person there says he's got it working. Could be worth contacting that user, or revitalising that thread.
