Synaptics kext

HI forum acer one,
This is the kext for the synaptics made from Naiw at wind forum, and I have to edit the kext for acer one a110 and a150 to get scrolling area (horizontal and vertical) as the version of windows.
And Drivers are also far better than the ffscroll version.

Did you must uninstall ffscroll first? Or it can work just disabling the ffscroll checkbox?

yes, ffscroll must be uninstalled....for better result

 

hmm - tried this on my a110 (xXx 10.5.6) and it isn't working.

in keyboard and mouse settings, trackpad, use two fingers to scroll is enabled and two strips of the trackpad do not affect the mouse pointer, as they would in XP/Linpus, but they do not cause the page to scroll.

 

on my 150 with 10.5.6 installed i'm having the same results where the pointer doesn't move but the page doesn't scroll. I also have the two finger scrolling enabled. I also tried it without it being on and it didn't work either...

 

In my xXx it doesn´t work too...

What the exactly process to install? Same as other kexts (i.e. KextHelper, Repair permissions, restart)?

 

Maybe you forget to setting scrolling speed at trackpad preferences

that was the problem - adjusted the scrolling speed from default to 100%, then back again, and now it's scrolling - great kext! thanks for the port suntool

Well, in my xXx still appears the Two Finger Scrolling, but, enable it causes the scroll area to work!

It´s very very good! I was using the one finger scroll with the FFScroll, but it was very imprecise to press the trackpad hardly to get scroll...

@suntool, How can I remove ffscroll?
It's a kext located somewhere? I cannot find the right steps to unninstall googling, could you or some other one post me a howto-link

these are codes for unisntall Ffscroll,
open terminal.app

Code:

$ cd /
$ cd /usr/local/bin
$ sudo rm FFscrollDaemon
$ cd /
$ cd /Library/StartupItems/
$ sudo rm -rf  FFscroll
$ cd /
$ cd /library/preferences/
$ sudo rm FFScrollPrefpane.prefPane

After that, install ApplePS2Controller.kext with kext helper or similiar utility.

Just, the last removement is at /Library/PreferencePanes instead of "preferences"

I installed it, it works well - but there are 3 problems now:
A 5 mm high area at the whole upper edge isn't responsible anymore and sometimes movements in the upper left corner cause browsers to go back a page.
And - before i installed this cursor movements were continued when reaching the edge of the trackpad - that's gone now too. =(

How can i uninstall this, please? =)

 

I installed the kext, and it deleted my mouse tab of the keyboard prefpane. I reinstalled from a backed-up copy, and i STILL didnt restore the tab. Can anyone help me with this?

Could anyone help me by sending their ORIGINAL .kext maybe? I still have the mentioned problems and have overwritten the backup i made by mistake. ;_;

If it matters, i have a 150 and used an iPC distro.

 

I have the same problems with semis.
