Well, u will have to ask Tata Customer Care for its Linux drivers. Linux is problematic for driver support. My Reliance phone is working fine with XP.

I too am trying to get tata usb modem "plug n surf" to work on my Acer ONe ZG5 with Linpus 1.09.
Wvdial does not detect the modem even after running
"wvdialconf wvdial.conf" on terminal with or w/o root access
    simply running wvdial throws error
    file not found /etc/ttyACM0
    any idea?
BTW the same card at least install and initilize on Ubuntu.

Okay guys I finally got the CDMA 1x USB MODEM (plug and play whiz blabla) working under linpus.

    1. First I followed the steps that are decribed here up to step 3 when you have gnome-ppp installed:
    http://wosten.blogspot.com/2008/08/usb- ... e-one.html

    2. Then I googled a bit and used the following settings:
(my program is in German so I don't know which words are used on your version)

    main window:
    user name: internet
    password: internet
    number: #777

    configurations:
    first page (Modem):
    gerät (probably device): /dev/ttyACM0
    typ (type): USB Modem
    Geschwindigkeit (speed): 460800
    (x) Ton ( ) Puls
    (othewise nothing selected)

    second page (Network):
    (x) Dynamische IP-Adresse (dynamic ip-adress)

    (x) Manuelle IP-Adresse (manual ip-adress)
    DNS1: 202.54.29.5
    DNS2: 202.54.10.2

    third page (options:
    okay theres 9 squares:
    [ ]
    [x]

    [ ]
    [ ]
    [ ]
    [x]
    [x]
    [x]
    [ ]

    wating time 0

    3. okay now you should just connect and everything will be fine
