The Apple USB modem claims that it supports the v.253, telephone answering, but it doesn't come with a software for it, does any one have any suggestion on which software to use for setting up a voice mail system? Better be free, but i don't mind paying as long as it is not too expansive. Thank you!

I dont know if this is the best forum for that question, as it's more specific to the modem hardware or software, but someone here may be able to help. I'd try apple forums also though.

I'd suggest looking into Asterisk though, as that's likely to give you a lot more than you could want, which means it should meet your requirements. I think it can be built under OSX but I'd recommend linux. I'm making an assumption here that you are trying to make a dedicated telephone voicemail system out of your AAO is that right?
