    Hey guys.

Over at XDA-Developers we work on programming and bugfixing (among other things) for Windows Mobile base phones. Alongside the forums and the actual site we have developed a Wiki which has proven to be an endless supply of knowledge for users.

I'd love to help build one for AspireOneUser.com seeing as I put a lot of work into ours over at XDA.

The way it works over there is that anyone with a forum ID can log into and help build the wiki. And since the AAO isn't going to be deleted from Acer's product list any time soon, maybe we should get ahead of the rest of the web and create our own Wiki.

XDA's wiki is currently down, but you can see what I mean when it's operational again, here's the link http://wiki.xda-developers.com/

The poll is only open for 30 days, so make your vote, and make it count :D

    Re: Wiki?

Meh I got antsy and had a few moments to spare this afternoon. So I got started on a wiki anyways. Here's the link http://acerone.wikispaces.com/. You have to be a wikispaces.com member to edit it, but here's hoping it'll become a great knowledgebase.

    Re: Wiki?

Great start, Swarvey. I don't know how to update Wikis, but the two basic 8.9" models are the A110 which has a solid state disk, and tbhe A150, which has a hard disk drive. There are a variety of sub-models. Memory capacity is 512MB to 1.5GB. Happy to contribute further when I understand the process of adding information.

    Thanks for starting this.

thanks for ur input :D and thanks for joining, editing's not really that hard, just find the page you wanna edit, and click the edit button up the top right, or create a new page and edit that.

    *EDIT*
Just added the A110 & A150 models, make any changes you want. Don't worry too much about formatting / punctuation / grammar etc, I'll review all changes made.

    Seeking AAO's

Hi guys, I am now seeking other models of the AAO for, well, testing etc.
I myself have a D250, and have enough knowledge about it to put some detail into the wiki. But now I'm looking for other models to develop technical documentation etc for them. I want to be able to create teardown guides, RAM upgrade guides etc etc. So if anyone is willing to donate their dead / alive machines for the good of the community, please contact me with a PM thru these forums.

Obiously any machines that are still alive (albeit out of warranty) will be sent back to their owners, but if you just want to give me any dead pieces you have they'd be handy.

I will outright refuse any that are still inside warranty as it would be just silly to sacrifice them.

As a bonus, I'll try to offer free repairs to any faulty / dead AAO's for the chance to do complete teardowns. Basically if your machine is faulty, dead or dying, I'll do my best to repair it for free. If it needs parts I'll have to charge wholesale for them, but otherwise send it over, let me tear it down and learn what I can from it, I'll do my best to repair it and send it back in about a week or so.

Hi, Just looked and it's a good start - however.. like all Forums for the Aspire One you forgot to Include the Ferrari One 200 which although it has the Athlon 64 bit chip IS a 'One'.... I think if you include this as well you will get more users too as nowhere seems to cater for this great little laptop/netbook fusion machine!

G'day, I've been behind the last two days, cat knocked my AAO off the top shelf and deep-sixed my hard drive, had to get a replacement so haven't been online much. I'm busy all day but will get to work on adding the Ferrari One soon. You can always register and create the page yourself if you want :D
