The case of the vanishing window

    When I opened a Java web application (Oanda, forex) with 1 main window and 4 other windows, I often encountered a queer thing: 2 or 3 of the windows were gone after 5 or 10 minutes. Sometimes they were hidden, and I can get them back by pressing the Home icon. Sometimes they were just gone. I tried to find them in other workspaces (Desktop, middle button click), but they weren't there. So I just had to restart the application. By using Ctrl-Alt-Del, I can see that the Java app is still running.
    Any ideas? Or how can I get back the windows in such case? I suspect the cause is related to network, i.e. disconnection that causes the window to vanish. But the main window can also vanish.
