I had very specific requirements for the case that I wanted for my AA1 and finally have the exact case I wanted and am posting this here in case it might help anyone else who has the same requirements.

    What I needed was:

had to fit the AA1 snugly with the 6 cell battery attached
had to have a shoulder strap
had to add minimum extra size to the AA1's thickness and weight etc. but had to also have room for my AA1 accessories
had to protect the AA1 well
had to be easy to get to the AA1 and its accessories
    should be reasonably stylish

I scoured all the postings at the forums here and found a lot of great cases but none that met my specs - there were lots of nice cases and pouches but many had no strap and many didn't fit the 6-cell etc. Like many I initially bought a DVD case but it was 3 and 1/2" to 4" thick.

Then I found a strap-less memory foam pouch at senyxdirect for the 10" MSI Wind that turned out to be only 1 and 1/2" to 2" thick and looked like all it was missing was the strap. I bought it for $21 and used MightyMendit to attach a strap I had from an old case and it's worked out great.

It's a perfect fit for the AA1 with the 6-cell and the front pocket fits my wireless mouse, mini-speakers, extra battery, USB keyboard light, USB 3G card, USB thumbdrive, headphones etc.

Maybe it will be right for somebody else too.
