    Hello all,

I'm new here and I do enjoy reading all the info. I have a question to which I have not yet found an answer to.

If I buy the Acer One Model 1987 at Radioshack http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3420869 with the pre-installed AT&T mobile broadband, can I insert my TMobile sim card that has a data plan on it into the Acer and get online? I would be paying the full price, not the $99 promo price because I didn't want to spend $60 only to use it an hour a day at work. I do see that TMobile in Europe already has a deal with Acer but not here in the U.S. yet.

Would I be better off getting a Sierra Wireless 875U Air card and using it?

Thanks again for all the info and i'm sorry if this is already posted here somewhere.

This 'deal' only is valid with the activation of a 2 year plan at $60 us a month.
So while you could use your card, you'll still have an active one in the acer.

You can buy the thing at full price which is $399.99 in my area, with no activation. You will have to unlock the wireless card though in order to use a t-mobile sim. When you purchase it, it won't work with anything but an at&t sim. It's pretty easy to find online places that will unlock it for around $15-$20 though.

For my Sierra Wireless card, Google "DC unlocker" download the program, buy credits (15 for a MC8781), run the program and your card is unlocked.

Costed me 22.00 dollars US. It can not unlock Sierra Wireless cards with the lastest and greatest firmware, so you have to install an earlier firmware version, unlock, and then upgrade the firmware.
