To Upgrade or Not....BIOS

    Hi - newbie here. Running Windows 7 on AOA 150, 160gb HDD and 0.5mb RAM. Need to upgrade (and have tried) but get Black SOD until I remove the RAM. Do I need to upgrade the BIOS first in order for the 1gb RAM to re recognised? Or anyone has a better idea as to what may be causing the problem....Cheers

    Make sure you're using compatible memory, or your system will not boot. Either that or it will boot but you'll get substantial problems once the system's running, or severe issues when installing the OS.

    Hi - thanks. I have just had a go at re-installing and hey presto! second time lucky! This little machine just can't run on 0.5gb RAM....
