I'm going to repost this info to its own thread as I think its of wide general interest.

Basic mouse functions using the A1 touchpad. (tested on my Linpus machine)

    1. touch and slide ... move the curser. (duh)

    2. touch and release (tap) ... single left mouse clock

    3. touch and slide, right hand side : vertical scroll

    4. touch and slide, bottom section : horizontal scroll

    5. tap and touch : left mouse button held down (drag)

    6. tap-tap : left mouse button double click

    7. tap bottom right corner : right mouse button click

    8. [tap top right corder : middle mouse button click] not yet confirmed

meanwhile on XP machines you do apparently get multitouch pinch-and-zoom functionality though it may not be enabled by default. This is not currently available on the Linpus machines.
