Touchpad Update unwanted

I've been using my Dell XPS12 for a decade. Yesterday my synaptics touchpad driver must have updated and now all the gestures are different (two finger right click, method of highlighting text etc). I gather it's updated to new methods but it eliminates my ability to operate specific software in certain ways that I require. Is there a way to 'go back' to previous software and then 'stop' future changes?
