Transmission Bittorrent client - newer version?

    I installed transmission on my AAO Linpus, but the version I got through "yum install transmission" is 0.82
    The current version is 1.42 and older versions are banned by many trackers.

    Is it possible to compile your own up to date version for linpus by using the source files
    at http://linux.softpedia.com/progDownload ... -4856.html ?

    I'm a beginner to linux.....

    I solved it in a way by installing azureus 2.5.4
