Alright, I've googled for hours, searched eBay, etc. and from what I understand, if I wish to take the A-One on a 30-day trip to Europe I would need a 3-prong (grounded) plug/adapter for the countries I'm traveling to. Thing is, with the Camera, Cellphone, HD Video Cam, Dryer, etc..the amount of international adapters/plugs is too much. The dryer/cellphone/HD camera have 2 prongs so they only need 1 adapter (http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=306808&id=prod4022024). Which is what I bought and intended to bring for the laptop too. I just realized it only works with 2-prong plugs.

Now question is, would it be safe to just buy a 3-prong to 2-prong adapter like:
    THIS ONE HERE
and plug that adapter to the International one (with surge protection) like this one?

Or should i spend money on a full Grounded International Adapter set?

Anyone being to Europe/Greece/France/Italy/Turkey with the Aspire One?

Also, has anyone tried the Car Charger-to-Airplane-Power Adapter?
    Link here

Any help or recommendations are more than welcome!.

    Hi,

I travel between the UK and Switzerland that uses the small 3 pin round plug (no earth) on a monthly basis, all you need is the travel adaptor as in your second image.

Remember it is the Acers power adaptor that you are looking at now the Acer PC and the voltage rating, most run from 220 -250, so all will be fine.

hey, i work in the uk but im from greece. so ive used both 3 prong plugs and 2 prong ones..
your best bet is to get an 1000 to 1 type of plug that supports us/uk/eu/usb plugs so that you can also charge your ipod/iphone..

all you need is 2 prongs for greece, and then your normal adaptor for your AAO connected, ive been using 2 prongs my whole life there, and its never been an issue.. in the uk, you kind of have to use the shity 3 prong huge plug, but its 10000% safer..pfff...

As a frequent traveler to Europe (3 to 4 times a year) and a fan of South America ALL I ever brought along was a converter plug with 2 flat North American plugs at one end and 2 round plugs at the other end. My electronic chargers accepts 110 to 220 volts. I would say that WiFi is often more difficult to get than the proper voltage and plugs.

You guys are brilliant!. Thanks for your help :3. And now that you mention WiFi, I heard hotels and cafes etc. charge a lot, What do you guys usually do when you travel abroad (Europe)? How much do you pay (aprox/if at all) in hotels and public places?

i dont know if this exists, but is there no sim for a 3g usb stick thats sort of international? also, i think you can buy top-up broadband in certain countries..for example, in the uk you can have a vodafone usb stick, and top up your broadband..

I travelled through Europe, staying overnight in Stuttgart, Venice, Thessaloniki, and Sofia, and managed to poach an unsecured WiFi network in every town.

The manual says not to use fancy adapters or converters. It says you should buy the correct AC Adapter.
