When booted in Linux, edit the following line in /boot/grub/menu.lst:

    makeactive

    to

    #makeactive

(you are just commenting it out)

Then, boot back into OS X and make the OS X partition active again. It should stay that way now.

I was having the same option until I commented this line out.

I looked at the easy triple boot thread and followed the guide referenced there.

If you only need the info on fixing grub boot loader go to this link at insanelymac :http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=85508&st=0&p=606752&#entry606752

You will need to be able to login as root to make changes to the files. I am not very good with terminal so i enable root to be able to login to the GUI.

    i currently have 3 partitions
    XP
    OSX
    BLANK

I am currently dual booting into darwin (iaktos 10.5.6) then selecting XP or OSX partiton.

I want to install ubuntu (easy peasy) on the blank partitions.....will grub find the other OS's and simply take over as the boot loader? Is there a possibility I will lose an OS because it just cant be found?

Please give me a bit of input.
