TROUBLE Attaching my A1 to my TV? HELP

I went out and bought a VGA cable hooked the two together, went into control panel and fooled around with dispaly. I did get the screen on the TV to change color and show it was getting something but that was it. I have some Dvix movies that I would like to play that work great on the laptop and want them on big screen.

Ok now I have done it!!! Went mucking around with display and adapter settings, checked a setting and now have a black screen. Rebooted into safe mode but can not find that particular place to change the setting back, rebooted regular and still black HELP!!!!!!!!

Well one of the fine fellows up on the Bleeping computer board had the fix and a very simple one which I believe may work on all XP systems. If by chance you muck around with video settings like I did and the screen goes black try: Holding the F & N keys down then press F6 , like magic my woes were cured hopefully it will help someone else out.
