Has anyone tried installing TrueCrypt? With such an eminently 'liftable' item as an AA1, one feels the need to be able to protect any personal data on the machine. The TrueCrypt software (http://www.truecrypt.org) is generally reckoned to be pretty good at this. But at present the TrueCrypt site offers Linux executables for only the OpenSuSE and Ubuntu distributions.
