well since i dabbled with the linpus stuff last time and managed to break alot of thngs ive decided to give linux another go and resurrect my netbook from its dusty shelf by installing the new ubuntu

ive got a 4gb cruzer drive formatted and made the boot disk using the usb creator in the netbook specific iso file from the ubuntu site. i set my Aspire one (the 110 version with the 8gb SSD) to boot from USB. fired up, booted the stick.... looked like i was in business. selected the try before you buy option but was then greeted with this:

    (initramfs) BusyBox v1.13.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.13.3-lubuntu11) multi-call binary

Usage: mount [flags] DEVICE NODE [-o options, more - options]

Mount a filesystem. Filesystem Autodetection requires /proc to be mounted.

    options:

(load of options like -a, -f, -i etc)

then at the bottom it just says:

Can not mount /dev/loop1 on /cow

and thats it. so whats gone wrong?

Maybe you download the Desktop ISO again and try to create the bootable usb drive with Unetbootin.

Try Wicd as an alternative Network Manager. It sometimes works better on certain WiFi encryptions...
