Hello, I'm trying to install Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.1
I've managed to grab a LiveUSB with Ubuntu on it.

How EXACTLY do i install Ubuntu using EXT2?
I'm a complete noob at this, so as specific as possible would be great.
I found threads with converting EXT3 to EXT2 and some that addressed this problem, but I did not find the exact answer I was looking for.

    Thank you for your time.

During installation, when you get to the disk partitioner, click the Advanced button. This will bring up a screen that lists the available partitions on your dirve. select the partition you want to use, then click the Edit Partition button at the bottom of the screen. Here you can specify Ext2 and the mount point (which should be /).

When you say advanced, are you referring to "Manual" ??
and do i select the "format this partition" ?
Can I select all of them? only 1? 2? (i think there is 4 or 5 partitions possible)

    Thanks again.

You are correct, the selection is Manual. Click on the partition taht you want to put Ubuntu on and then click on the Edit Partition button. From there you can choose Ext2. I usually click on the Format Partition box. You need only format the partition that will be Ext2...Linux will take care of formatting a swap partition for you.

Nice job! It's one of those things that isn't obvious in Ubuntu.
