ubuntu netbook remix microphone int/ext not working

    hi guys i really need your help please...
    i have an aspire one A110L with netbook remix installed.
    i have tried to use skype but my external microphone (using the jack) did not work. i have tried to fix the problem editing the settings of the mixer. nothing worked...
    the thing is that i have seen a lot of pleople writing post in which they claim that the external microphone works well by default.
    so i think that maybe it is my fault because i altered the correct settings.
    i just want to use skype using my external microphone and headset... what are the correct settings for the pc and skype ? is there someone who could help me in a simple way?

    i have also tried to use the internal microphone... i have correctly installed the latest drivers from the alsa site but i dont know why they do not work...
