    Hi spiretown

You need access to the Advanced desktop to enable you to change the keyboard to UK English as follows,

Open Terminal by pressing the Alt key and F2 key's at the same time.
Click run and you will see the Terminal command box.
    Type in the following,
xfce-setting-show and then hit enter key. This will open a window.
Click on Desktop and in the new window select the Behavior tab.
Click on the box adjacent to Show desktop on right click and then close the window.
When you now right click anywhere on the desktop you will be given a menu.

Once you have done this open up the menu by right click then select Settings, then Keyboard and make the default English (UK)

The Advanced Menu gives you access to more functionality.

    Best wishes.

    Hi spiretown

You don't say what system you are using, but as you're new I'm assuming it is Linpus, in which case it is a little easier to do the following...

Click 'Settings' near the bottom right of the desktop; then select 'Keyboard' , click 'English (UK)' and then click 'Set as default' and 'OK'

    Sorry solpuerto!

    Hi freddie

No problem, I no longer have the standard acer desktop and when I checked the manual under settings there was no mention of Keyboard so I assumed it was not there.
Anyway the Advanced menu is useful.
