I have been trying to install some extra bits from the programme manager and all i keep getting is an error message that says i am unable to resolve dependencies.

I have tried doing alt f2 sudo yum install fedora-release and nothing has changed. Any help please I as cannot seem to do anything and a getting a little disheartened.

    Cheers

Still a Linux noob, but it sounds to me as though you have not enabled the proper software repositories? I have found that there are two that take care of most everything I have needed... One is (free), and one is (nonfree), whatever that means.
http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fed ... noarch.rpm That's the free one. I just kind of figured it all out as I went, compiling information from different sources. Are you using the stock OS version of Linux? I do not have ANY experience with it, only with Fedora and Ubuntu (so far)...Good luck...
