I have just replaced (again) my AA1 A150L by a 150X with a built-in 3G modem. In Ubuntu Netbook Remix, a wizard to setup a 3G connection keeps popping up. I do not use 3G as I am waiting for the competition to appear (3 have the monopoly on sim-only 3G broadband contracts). Is there a way of disabling the 3G modem in Ubuntu, or stop the wizard from launching, or something?..

I don't know about disabling 3G (short of physically removing the 3G module), but if you run the wizard - and just select anything from the list of options - it won't keep launching after every reboot. It won't try to connect to a network without a SIM card. If you decide to use 3G after all, you can manually launch the configuration wizard.
