I have an AAO ZG5. Considering installing UNR but have read about the numerous issues:

    • microphone not working with Skype
      WiFi LED not working
      Right-hand Card Reader
      Choppy Video

Are these issues still present in the latest UNR - 9.04 ??
Is moving from Linpus to UNR worth the hassle?

I do not like UNR. It is very slow compared to other distros or even a standard installation and I really did not care for the interface. IMO it is also bloated and has a ton of unnecessary drivers.

I suggest you try a standard install (most things seem to work with 9.04 out of the box although I have not tried everything).

If there is a specific problem with a standard install, post back.

Instead of 9.04, I'm running the 9.10 (karmic koala) pre-release alpha, and it appears to be an almost perfect version.

Its much faster than the easypeasy install I was using, about 30 second boot-up after the grub screen.
Wifi worked out of the box, and the wifi led seems to work (flickers when in use)
I haven't tried the Fn+F2 to turn it on or off yet
Not sure about the sd card

but as far as usage, faster is better to me and find it a much more pleasant experience compared to easypeasy or linpus

    adding
    Code:
    pciehp.pciehp_force=1
on the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst will take care of the SD card readers.

Ditto on all counts. Although I may take a look at karmic koala, based on report here.
