Updating to OXS 10.5.5 HELP

    Hi all,
    new to this forum, just installed Kalyway 10.5.2, tried to update to 10.5.5 but installer tells me volume does not meet requirements for this update?
    also still can't get sound working or wifi card, oh and usb flash drive is only showing after re-boot. please plain english responses i'm really new to this

    Ok. Did you try going directly from 10.5.2 to 1.5.5? Because you need to do all the updates in between. Just follow this guide http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=129774. Make sure you're trying to upate to the correct version. After you get yourself to 10.5.5 then worry about sound and usb.

    Apple in their wisdom or otherwise usually release two kinds of updates:
    a delta update which takes you up one step, eg. MacOS Update 10.5.5 goes: 10.5.4 -> 10.5.5
    and a combo update which will take any of the smaller minor points up to the new level
    eg MacOS Update Combo 10.5.5 takes 10.5.(0, 1, 2, 3, 4) up to 10.5.5
    Make sure you know which one you are using....

    Also it seems more reliable to NOT use Apple's SoftwareUpdate service,
    but download the standalone updaters from support.apple.com/downloads/

    ok, all is good up to 10.5.4, then when i install the 10.5.5 update the darn thing freezes at around sixty something % and locks up :eek: , then needs to start from scratch again, ideas anyone? :?:
