Such a problem would occur, if any of the installed RAM has a severe defect.

A lot of ppl on the HP forum found not all 800mhz ram worked on the 2133 Mini-Note...

Must be an issue of the ram not liking being throttled back to 533mhz... Its the only thing I can think of...

Thanks for all the information in here, but I have one doubt.

I'm using an AA1 751h bought October 2009. However, my specifications (like the scan above) specifically say that the soDIMM slot supports 512 MB / 1 GB for a total system memory of up to 1 GB - and not 2 GB!

Can anyone tell me why is this different in my case and whether I can disregard and just buy and install a 2 GB memory?

Yes, this is true.. sadly , you cannot install more than 1.5 GB of RAM on these laptops .. Yesterday i opened up an aspire one 10.1", and after I pouted back with a 2GB of RAM didn't worked.. it's works a little better with 1.5 GB, but it's not a big difference.

Btw, i have win 7 prof on it.

In conclusion, don't spend money on a 2gb dim of ram.
