Just bought an AAO, with Windows XP Home (licensed), 160 Gb HD and 1Gb RAM while I was on holiday in Penang. From a software angle, I'm keeping it minimalist, to get the best speed.

When I took it to my office in Bangkok the technician said I need to upgrade to XP Pro (we have a site licence) to connect to the office LAN/WiFi, because of the way the security is set up. Can anyone see any problems in upgrading?

    Thanks :)

As long as you have the media to install the xp pro, and means to do so i.e. a usb pendrive 1GB+ or usb dvd drive then no problem :).

Maybe you can get the tech at your office to do it, then he'd know what was done and deal with any resulting problems. It would be worth a beer or two after work.
