    Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has tried to upgrade the OpenOffice version provided on the AA1 to the newer version at openoffice.org. I tried recently and it completely borked my OpenOffice install. I had to remove everything and restart.

Anyone had success moving to OO 2.4?

My guess is that it's a dependency issue. Have you tried downloading OO from the Fedora repository using Add/Remove software? I can't check this right now, I can't connect to the repository, but it's an idea. GL

I downloaded OpenOffice 2.4 from the OpenOffice.org site and couldn't install it. It's necessary to have root permission using the GUI, which, as far as I know, is impossible. But I'm a really new and ignorant user. Has anybody upgraded?

I understand that you must uninstall the existing OpenOffice program(s) via the Add/Remove Programs route, before loading V2.4 I haven't tried it yet, mainly because getting the dictionaries to work in OOo is an almost impossible task. Nobody I've spoken to has been able to download and instal them. Wonder how long before they're prt of the initial install?
