    I need an advice on following:

    I received the Acer Upgrade Kit (green and white CD) to upgrade Vista on my Aspire M3641 to Windows 7.
    If I follow the Upgrade Kit instructions I'm supposed to begin with the green CD (with the Acer Upgrade Wizard and applications and drivers for Windows 7), then run the white CD (with Windows itself) and finally the green CD again.
    However, after consulting a Computer Helpdesk, a like to do the following:

    1. Boot from CD/DVD and start with the white CD;
    2. Choose the advanced type of installation and format the C drive (with Vista) first.
    3. Then install Windows 7 on my clean C drive.
    4. Finally run the green CD with the Acer Upgrade Wizard and applications and drivers for Windows 7.

    Does somebody know if this is possible or will it cause problems for sure if I skip step 1 (starting with the green CD) and start with the white CD first and finish with the green CD ?
    (I was thinking that it does not make sense to start with the green CD if I format the C drive first before installing Windows 7...but
    maybe this is not possible ? )

    Thnaks for your help.

    The first time I installed Windows 7 on my AAO was just an over-the-top install. Basically put the Win7 DVD in and ran the installation from Vista. In no time at all I was running Windows 7. I haven't had to update any drivers at all. They were all there when Win7 went in. However by choice I have updated to all the latest Win 7 drivers from the Acer website to ensure my system runs as smoothly as possible.

    I did the same exact process on my desktop PC which is a custom-built Quad-Core 64 bit system, with 64 bit Windows 7 (previously Vista 64 bit).

    However since then I have done a complete clean-install. I removed all the partitions from the HDD, ran the Win7 setup from the CD and let it create it all for me.
