I wonder if anyone can help. I have created several USBs containing a range of distros (Ubuntu; Linux4one; Easy Peasy; Fedora) using Unetbootin; Ubuntu USB creator; Fedora USB creator, and using three different types of USBs including a rather expensive Corsair USB. BUT none of them will boot. Can anyone give me a few tips!? Many thanks.

I booted to an Ubuntu CD on a desktop PC and said to not make any changes to the PC. Then in the OS, it has a tool to create a bootable USB.

I used that to create a USB bootable key on a 1 GB USB key. I was able to successfully install Ubuntu on my laptop using that.

You most likely already know this, but to be safe, be sure to hit F12 at the BIOS splash screen to display the boot menu and select the USB key.
