You need to run update utility for AA1 so you'll get working version of the program.

There is also a problem with Google Talk, the application doesn't accept german GMail addresses like

    [email protected]

This application isn't localized very well.

    Hi,

Saw that people was writing regarding problems with Messenger...

I also have problems with it.

MSN works fine here, but Gtalk will not work.. I have a @gmail.com address, though I made it when I was in Denmark it was way back before any other email address was made from Google.. Al the settings I have is in English from day one, so any one know what it could be that is wrong?

There is a workaround you can try.
I use my aol account [email protected] for example.

    1. add a new aim account and use the account name only instead of the full email address.
    use "eaway" in my case.
    2. close messenger. (not only close the window, but also close the app from system tray icon)
    3. use editor to open ~/.purple/accounts.xml
    4. find your aol account name and modify it to the full email address
    <account>
    <protocol>prpl-aim</protocol>
    <name>eaway</name>
    ....
change this line <name>eaway</name> to be <name>[email protected]</name>
    5. launch the messenger again and you should be able to login.

    Hi eaway,

Tried that one for the Gtalk thing.. didn't work though, I was hoping.. But I can see that it uses jabber as protocol, so I tried to update that one, only to get the messages that updater couldn't find the Jabber folder :(
