My friend has the Linpus SSD one.

I tried hooking up my Acer AspireOne netbook to the VGA PC input on my LG 42LG70 HDTV using a 20 foot VGA projector cable. The TV said "No Input" until I set the Acer Display Setting to "Show my desktop on all displays"; then it said "Invalid Format." The Acer has a 1024 x 600 display resolution while the TV accepts a range of resolutions, but not this one. The closest it will accept is 1280 x 768. Is there a way to reset the Acer to this config, and would the Acer's own screen work with a different resolution?

Your video board can output two separate video signals, at different resolutions. Just right-click on the toolbar icon for the Intel video, and choose the appropriate resolution for each screen.

if you have a free mini PCIe slot, a broadcom HD accelerator would do the trick, allowing the resolution to be enhanced for outside video play. problem is, not sure if your AAO has the extra slot.
