hi all, following this forum's many informative advice , last night i installed XP sp2 on my A150 (1G,120G hdd) all is fine and working 100% , then there a thin blue colour line appeared!?? i think it appeared after 1 of the many reboot during all the different xp drivers installs....

its about 1/3 from the right going VERTICAL from top to bottom , and is i guess 1 or 2 pixel thick ?!? ,tried reboot in SAFE MODE , tried many other screen property/resolutions etc etc , im using the XP VGA driver, oh the external monitor is 100% fine as expected anyway.

since Ive only had it for a week , yes 1 week , shall i return it , more importantly i will have to re-install the Linpus wouldn't i ? or they will NOT like it right ?

    any ideas??

Did you install the Intel 945 drivers? Can you post a screenshot? It could also be dead pixels.

Wont be dead pixels if its a blue line. More likely a driver issue. Although its suspicious that its fine on the ext. monitor. Tried reinstalling xp?

if it's a defective LCD, it would appear all the time and not just in windows.
stupid thing but i've seen it before, make sure you don't have the windows wallpaper set to one with a vertical line...lol....i've had clients complain about a line like that only to find they were using a wallpaper that had the line in it...

It really looks like a defective LCD screen. I haven't seen anything like that if it's just a driver issue..... hmmmm. Try to install linpus again, to see if you don't have any problems with it.

You did'nt answer the question... have you installed the proper drivers for the INTEL chipset?(1st) then Intel 945 grafix drivers.

Yeah, if its still there after putting linpus back onthen its definately gotta go back. As you said, now you have a image of the C: then it should be a breeze when you get it back :) Just a pain having to wait!
