I have had AAO with Linpus for 5 days now.
I have been using Linux for several years, and very fast I found the way to get the normal xfce desktop running incl compiz.
I'm also using acerfand to keep fan from running all the time.

But I notice that no /var/log/syslog exist on this machine.
I see no log output from acerfand, I see very little log info in /var/log in general.
    dmesg work fine.
I see Linpus come with rsyslog.
Maybe Acer changed logging to prevent writing to much info on SSD.
Anyone having tips on how logging works in this machine?

    Hi,

I found out that the rsyslog is not running at startup, although that a symbolic link exists in rc2.d
When you run manually /etc/init.d/rsyslog start, you will see that the linpus will start to write to /var/log/messages

we only need to find out why the rsyslog is not starting at boot time :?

    Cheers,

It's not starting because it would just wear out the SSD. :)

    Cheers.
