I have just finished installing 10.10 on the 751H and all appears working fine except the usual screen driver issues because of the GMA500 chipset. I installed the patches as per 10.04 and voila I get the increased video resolution and performance BUT. There is always a BUT unforunately. When I try and play a movie with either movie player or VLC I get sound but a completely black video playback.

Anybody with bright ideas? Maybe updated patch for the GMA500?

Just an update for everybody. I managed to find a fix and VLC was working perfectly BUT then I did an upgrade and then couldnt find the "fix" again. Anyway all has turned out OK by installing Gnome mplayer. I now have high res and the ability to watch movies.
