So I'm really enjoying the One and how I can use it for Biz and it's great for travel. However, I am dissapointed that I can't watch an Itunes or Amazon movie. I've searched the forums but just don't understand why this is an issue...I can watch a video on a Ipod nano or Iphone or other low horsepower player. Why not the One?
    Thanks

I am assuming you mean poor performance, if so then this may be of interest. I had a AAO with a 120 GB HD and it worked great. The video was smooth and clear. I had a fit with Ubuntu kernel update rendering the laptop useless (BTW if you use Ubuntu do not update the kernel it will kill your AAO), by the time I had re-installed and updated about 5 times I got pi$$ed and threw the laptop in the trash and broke the screen. Only after that I found out what the problem was and that it had been going on for MONTHS and they still didn't fix it. Anyway, I bought a new AAO, same computer except it has a 160GB HD. This one has choppy video and lags. I don't know what the problem is. I am trying to find out. If I do I will post the solution here. I use Ubuntu linux, what OS are you using? In my case I am thinking it is the way I fixed linux after install to make everything work. This time instead of following the directions here.....

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne

I used the one step fix from here

    http://www.aspireonekernel.com/

And I just now noticed the site is gone, or overloaded or something. It gives the Address Not Found. It is not that I think the person that so graciously made the update file to fix everything did a crappy job, it is just that is the only thing I did different. Maybe I did it wrong, I don't know. Maybe this computer is not the same as I thought it was. Whatever the case I will post it here if I can find a solution.

Maybe you didn't install the codecs properly.

Acer Aspire one has the power to play 1080P hidefinition videos.

I just remembered something, I was running 8.04 on the other AAO, I have 8.10 on this one. maybe that will give some insight as to what the problem may be.

As for codecs, I haven't installed any. I never have, I use VLC and it has never needed any additional codecs other than what was already with the OS.

Is there something additional that I should install or change from the initial OS setup of 8.10 Intrepid?
