Video problem Ubuntu 11.10

I have an AAOD255E and the video worked fine under Ubuntu 11.04 but is pretty bad under 11.10 I checked for other drivers but none was listed, also installed Flash-Aid to help, but no relief there. I get video but it is slow and choppy. It was suggested to me that the AAOD255E might have been blacklisted, not sure how that happens. I know there was a kernal upgrade to 3.0 with the Ubuntu 11.10 release. Any help appreciated. KBD47
