I wish to record simple videos using the built in webcam. I tried using the software that comes with it as it has the record function, but it seems that it only records the video and no audio.

I was wondering if there is any software that will allow me to record both video and audio or if there's something I'm missing in the settings that will allow me to record the audio with the software that comes with it.

I do not wish to edit the videos using the AA1, just record them. I have another computer I can, will and do use to edit videos.

I have been searching since I posted the original post in this topic with no luck, and judging from the lack of response that no-one else has had any luck.

What I have decided to do is install audacity and record the audio with Audacity while recording the video with the default software.

A quick question about Audacity: If I was to download Audacity from the Audacity website, which version would I have to download? I want to make sure I install the right version.

Probably best to download it from the Fedora-8 repository (sudo yum install audacity) or the livna Fedora-8 repository (if you want the non-free stuff) just to be sure you get all the dependencies. Once upon a time, I compiled 1.3.something from scratch (but not on my AA1); a bit of a pain for no gain

I don't think there is a program in the Fedora 8 repo that does that. I personally use guvcview:

However, you will need to compile it yourself.

The problem with that is it requires me to be connected to the internet to record. The whole point was so I could record a basic video somewhere that may not have an internet connection.
