Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum.
I am about to buy a notebook to use in place of my MP3 player (I am an Entertainer and sometimes use a lot of music)
ATM if I do a longer gig I use my laptop with Virtual DJ.It (Virtual DJ)requires 1024x768 SVGA video. With the notebooks being 1024x600 will this be a problem? If it is what will happen?
I am not really well up with regards computers so any help would be welcome.
    Thanks
    Kev

There is the ability to "downscale" the video so that 1024x768 gets displayed in the space of 1024x600. Things look a little squashed, but I have used it plenty of times with software that was expecting a minimum of SVGA. You can also have a virtual scrolling screen. The pixel pitch is the same as 1024x600, but the screen scrolls for the remaining 168 pixels when needed.

not installed virtual dj on my netbook yet as i only ordered it yesterday, but i'd just change the skin to a 800x600 skin. will easily fit on then.
you should already have one on your system (just go to 'config', then 'skin')

if you dont have one i can send you one

email [email protected] if you're struggling.

out of interest, have you done any mixing on your aspire yet? if so does it run smooth enough? the one ive ordered has 1gb ram and the 120gb hdd so i'm not envisaging any probs...

    cheers, adam.

    Hi,

Related to the subject, I have just installed Propellerheads Reason on my AA1 (with a 30gb drive and 1.5 Mb).
It works - almost -well : most of the songs are Ok (with a CPU occupation of about 70%), but sometimes peaks (many tracks and effects at the same time) popup the "CPU too slow" message.
For about 5 or 6 tracks and moderate effects, it seems fine (although some effects don't render as well as on a speedy machine).
I would like to try to deactivate HyperThreading, to see if there is an improvement.

    Cheers,

    C.
